Empowering women

Building confidence

Creating opportunities

CHEK— empowering women, building confidence, and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

Through practical training, mentorship, skills development, and meaningful conversations, the workshop equips women with knowledge and tools to strengthen their livelihoods, build confidence, and become positive change-makers within their families and communities.

VOO Women’s Workshop

Over the course of the workshop, participants took part in group discussions, hands-on activities, and mentorship sessions focused on building confidence and practical skills for everyday life. For many of the women, it was the first time they’d had space set aside just to think about their own growth — outside the roles they carry every day at home and in their communities.

One moment from the workshop stood out. A participant put it simply:
“The greatest problem we are facing is not money or resources however lacking they maybe, it is a scarcity mindset.”
It’s a line that captures exactly what CHEK’s approach is built around — that real change starts with a shift in how people see their own possibilities, not just what’s added from the outside.

Workshops like this one are part of CHEK’s ongoing Women & Youth program, building confidence and opportunity one gathering at a time. The workshop brought Women in Voo, Kitui county together to share experiences, develop new skills, explore opportunities, and encourage one another.

At CHEK, we believe that when women are empowered with the right knowledge, resources, and support, they can create lasting change for themselves, their families, and future generations.
