Center for Hope and Empowerment (CHEK)

The Center for Hope and Empowerment (CHEK) is an organization registered under the national NGO in Kenya as full fledged not-for-profit entity. We exist to help create an equitable and just world for Everyone without favoritism.

We are committed to working with “the least of these” – marginalized populations – to offer hope and help them be empowered to improve their quality of life.

We use proven, practical and experiential training curriculums specially formulated to educate, affirm, and motivate, offering practical tools to help those at the margins of society to navigate through their circumstances with confidence to achieve a more secure, successful, and fulfilling life.

Vision

That one conversation at a time, person at a time and one gathered circle at a time we can bring unity, peace and harmony to our world through focused education, listening to, and acknowledging every voice, and by upholding and affirming the inherent dignity of all human persons regardless of their race, creed or social standing.

Mission

CHEK is dedicated to offering hope and sustainable support to all and especially to those on the margins of society by providing access to resources, education, and opportunities for personal and communal growth. Through community education and collaboration, we strive to create communities where every individual feels seen, heard, valued and safe. Where all members are unhindered and empowered to reach their full potential and live a meaningful life.

Our Values

We believe: In God; in the inherent dignity of all people; that people are best equipped in finding solutions to the issues facing them, and that with the right information and resources, transformation and redemption is possible.

Our Method

We use various modalities which are based on similar but distinct approaches, to meet each unique education and training need.

Some of these are: JUST Listening, Restorative Justice, Alternatives to Violence, Discipled by Jesus, etc.
